UniK Elects Guild Leaders


The UniK elections road map that took over a month from 21st March with nominations, until 21st-April 2017 the day of the Re-Run elections. The Election constituted the Guild representative council(G.R.C) members seeking election in different constituencies, like Faculty of Education, Faculty of Business and ICT, Faculty of Human and Social Sciences, Special Needs, Residents, Non-Residents to mention but a few and for the overall post of UniK Guild President 2017-2018.

In the Guild President initial bid saw four contestants compete for the same post that is Mr. Matovu Partick, Mr. Mulumba Pius,Mr. Ayak Peter and Mr. Owora Mark. On the Day of Election 7th-April 2017 Mr Mulumba Puis got 11% of votes cast, Mr Matovu Pius 25.4%, Mr Ayak Peter 28.1% and Mr Owora Mark 35.2%, 2% of the votes were Invalid. The Result called for a Re-Run between the two that emerged with the highest percentage since the winner had to get more than 50% of the votes cast.

21st April 2017 the UniK Guild Fraternity participated in the Re-Run to decide the new leader for the year 2017-2018. Mr. Owora Mark emerged winner with a percentage of 54.8% votes cast, Mr. Ayak Peter with a 45.2% as of the Declaration of results form.
In his words New leader is determined to turn around students welfare and proper representation of the entire Guild community. The swear in ceremony is scheduled for Sunday 30th April 2017 in the University Chapel during the 9-11am Mass there after handover ceremony at Nabinoonya Lake resort.

    1.How i wish a galley for students life is embedded under the section of of students life at Unik –
    2. Also under faculties, i really wish, if you could embed the departments sections there,a long the activities which take place in a particular department like current research innovations e t c.
