DEAN’S MESSAGE

I praise and thank God for His kindness and goodness to us. Hadly a year when we celebrated a decade anniversary of excellence and our existence as a University college and now here we are again launching the University of Kisubi (Unik) as an autonomous and independent institution of higher learning. May His name be praised forever.
Once again I take this opportunity to welcome the new students who are indeed the first intake of Unik 2015-2016. You are indeed unique and the history of his university will forever remain to refer to you as the pioneer Unik students which should indeed make you so proud and blessed. You have come to the fountain of knowledge and a center of excellence. The opportunity is before you to explore your giftedness as you build a very strong base intellectually for your future. What is expected of you is serious business and nothing else; so good luck.
To our beloved continuing students, I thank you for your continued co-operation and support mainly to our new students as you have been orienting them to new experiences of University life and please you are encouraged to continue with your exemplary and moral support to them in order to make Unik indeed unique and with a difference.
Special events and Students activities
Some of our students made us so proud this year as they participated in various activities and actually excelled highly. To mention, two of our students participated in the Uganda Martyrs University beauty context which was organized at Masaka Ambiance Club and out of the eleven contestants, our student by the name of Adong Colleen was declared the Uganda Martyrs University beauty Queen and Ms. Bagwaneza Victoria also our student from Unik emerged the 2nd runners up. Congratulations to you girls and keep our flame burning.
On the 8th of March 2015, the guild fraternity successfully organized the usual annual Cultural Gala. A number of items were contested among our four regional groupings i.e.Baganda Nkobazambogo Students’ Association (BANKOSA), North East and South Sudan (NESA), the Banyakitara (KIBUBA) and the International Students (KENTAN). NESA emerged the overall winner followed by BANKOSA. Congratulations to all our four groups for sacrificing your limited time and resources to participate in the Gala, and more is expected next year. The whole idea is not competition as such, but an expression of our unity in diversity where we all learn from one another and appreciate each other’s background to enable us forge our way forward together.
The guild elections were conducted smoothly, freely and fairly and HE Twinomujuni Justus Obey was elected as the new guild president academic year 2015-2016. Congratulations to your excellence, your executive and G.R.Cs. The University of Kisubi expects only the best of your charismatic and exemplary leadership to steer it to greater horizons.
Kisubi information communication technology association (KICTA) under the theme ‘Cerebrating technology’, organized an ICT Exhibition Week that was to create awareness and show the impact of ICT to the community.
